A generous load of new spy photos picturing the 2012 SLK-Klasse emerged these days. As there is no more to debate on the car's exterior and interior styling, we'll now turn our attention to the engine lineup prepared for the new roadster. Customers will have a choice of up to five different variants, one of them diesel-based and the other four gasoline-running. The ultimate surprise could be a possible SLK 250 CDI version powered by the 2.1 liters 4-cylinder inline diesel unit, producing 204 hp. The petrol burners list may consist of the SLK 250 CGI, boasting 204 hp of maximum output, the 231 hp SLK 300 and the SLK 350 CGI, which might receive a power-boosted version of the new 3.5 liters V6 BlueDIRECT unit, capable of achieving around 354-360 hp. The top-of-the-line SLK 63 AMG will be launched in the second part of 2011 and could be powered by the new 5.5 l biturbo V8 engine, tweaked to deliver around 470-480 hp.
