The new A-Klasse AMG hatchback will come packed full of high-end technology. The engineers from Affalterbach will develop a new all-wheel-drive rear-biased technical platform, which is supposed the desired dynamic, sport-oriented on-road behaviour. Under the bonnet, this naughty AMG hatch will receive a new 4-cylinder, inline unit, which is said to be elaborated using the current M271 EVO engine as basis. The new powerplant will be the first AMG motor to boast wave-pulse supercharger technology, co-developed in partnership with the Switzerland-based firm Hyprex. Other specifications include the latest forced induction and multi-cycle direct injection systems. Power will be transferred to all the four wheels of the car with the help of a new dual clutch gearbox. Some advanced output figures reaching levels of 270-280 BHP, but we believe there will be more than just that. With those innovative solutions implemented, it could well be the case of pretty over 300 BHP.

The new sports hatch from AMG will mark the beginning of a new marketing direction for the company and thus will be aimed at a different target public than nowadays: dynamic, adventurous and younger customers. The future A-Klasse AMG will be a tough competitor for the Audi RS 3, the upcoming BMW 1er M and the Volkswagen Golf R.
