SPY - 2013 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class FL

Mercedes-Benz have started testing the rehauled version of the GLK-Class ahead of the official debut expected around mid-2012. Latest spy photos show a mildly-camouflaged prototype which sports a revamped front fascia through the retouched headlights, that might get LEDs on the high-end models, the new radiator grille and the restyled bumper and air intakes. The rear lamps are also prone to undergo some visual changes, as well as the tailgate. Following the SLK example, be sure they'll look spectacular when darkness falls over the city. The dashboard should stay practically the same, but some updates to components (e.g. AC vents, center console, telematics) could be planned in roder to keep the compact SUV fresh and attractive for customers. Active and passive safety systems will come courtesy of the new C-Class, in addition to the BlueEFFICIENCY engines. The range-topper, the GLK 350, will boast a peak output 306 hp out of a frugal direct-injection V6 unit. While there's no official report on this issue, the new GLK facelift might receive a RHD variant, as the current model generation is a no go for the United Kingdom, an otherwise crucial market in which two of the main competitors of the compact SUV are long-established and already selling important volumes.
