The summer of 2011 will see the launch of the new SLK 55 AMG. The AMG boys are currently testing out the car on German streets to finely tune it for impressive performances. The doped version of the compact roadster will feature the complete package of drive management solutions that promise to deliver the best dynamic capabilities in its class - the 3-stage ESP, the AMG-tweaked steering systems and active suspension, the AMG MCT gearbox and many other. The beast roaring under the bonnet will mark another premiere for the Affalterbach-based tuner: converting the 5.5 liters biturbo V8 engine rated at 544 hp/800 Nm into a naturally-aspirated unit with the same displacement, producing around 422 hp. Visually, the new generation of the SLK 55 AMG will be aggressively-styled, featuring a widened body, generous front air intakes, large alloy wheels with AMG design, and quad exhausts and a functional diffuser at the rear end.
