Rendering - 2010 Mercedes-Benz R-Klasse FL(GLR?)
A new computer-generated image of the facelifted version of the slow-selling Mercedes-Benz crossover has emerged on the internet.
Set to debut this year, at the Geneva Motor Show in March or at the New York Motor Show in April, the new R-Klasse FL will receive a completely revised front fascia, heavily criticized because of its lack of personality. The crossover will sport new headlights, similar to those found on the B-Klasse, a larger, more prominent radiator grille with 3 chromed louvres, as well as a revamped air intake and bumper, featuring LED daytime-running lights. While the side profile of the car will remain practically untouched(except for the trapezoidal mirrors), the rear end area will benefit from the addition of slightly-revised tail lights, bumper and new exhaust pipes. Expect some minor changes for the interior as well:a new steering wheel, more upclass materials, and more attractive colour combinations. The outstanding safety systems, such as the Lane Keeping ASSIST, ATTENTION ASSIST or Blind Spot ASSIST, that were premiered in 2009 on the new E-Klasse and S-Klasse FL, could also be offered. Not many technical changes are programmed for the powerplant range-only slight efficiency improvements along with the addition of the BlueEFFICIENCY package for almost all the engines.
It is also rumoured that, in an effort to somehow boost the sales of the unpopular R-Klasse, Mercedes-Benz plans to rebagde the car as GLR-Klasse. But that's still uncertain;we can only wait for the car to bow in a matter of weeks.
